Serono Symposia  “Reproductive ageing – a basic and clinical update”, Taormina, 4/2011

The aim of this symposium was to provide a broad overview of the molecular mechanisms of ageing in humans and in animal models. This was achieved through a focused examination of oocyte and ovarian physiology and the factors involved in ageing.

It also offered a synthesis of the current clinical and therapeutic options for fertility preservation in the face of reproductive ageing, and of the relationship between fertility and longevity.
