Improving service quality in Assisted Reproduction through clinical performance indicators: The Maribor ESHRE consensus

After two years of work, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology has published indicators that can be used to measure the clinical performance of physicians working in Assisted Reproduction.

These include the IVF cycle cancellation rate, the incidence of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, the proportion of mature oocytes, the post-IVF complication rate, the pregnancy rate and the multiple pregnancy rate.

Together, the clinical and laboratory indicators can be used to improve service quality in Assisted Reproduction — forming part of the overall quality evaluation of IVF centres and a basis for subspecialty training in Assisted Reproduction.
